History and Growth

Werner Printing & Engraving Co. is proud to be an independent, third generation family owned business. Werner Printing was started in 1921 by Robert M. Werner and his brother-in-law John Isaacs. The company started as a letterpress shop. In 1958 Lou Werner started working at the company. He eventually took over in 1980. Lou is still an integral member of the team. Ownership and day to day management was passed to his son Robert in 2011.

Over the years, Werner has successfully acquired 6 respected competitors. The company has grown to occupy over 60,000 square feet of space. Werner Printing is conveniently located in Chicago’s thriving west Loop. The company is one of the Midwest’s leading manufacturers of printed and engraved materials.

The growth of the company has been a result of the Werner commitment to provide a quality product in a timely and cost effective manner. Moreover, the company is unique in their broad scope of capabilities. Werner Printing and Engraving is one of the few companies in the United States that can produce “in- house”; an ability which allows them to tightly control both quality and scheduling.
