General Questions

Do you accept credit cards?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and checks. We do not accept AMEX.

What sort of products do you engrave?
We strictly engrave on paper products such as: letterheads, memo pads, envelopes, business cards, personal stationery, note cards, thank you notes, certificates, etc. We do not engrave on anything metal, glass, wood, leather, or plastic.

What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Extended Hours and Saturday availability by appointment.

Visiting Werner Printing

Do you have samples?
Yes. We carry a variety of project samples and carry an assortment of paper swatch books and samples. You can come in or we can send samples to you.

Can I visit and discuss my project with someone?
You can come visit us and discuss your project. You can also set up an appointment to meet with a member of our staff who can walk you through the process as well as show you samples of our work.

Could someone come out to my business and discuss products with me?
Absolutely! We have staff who would love to come directly to you provided you are in the Chicagoland area. Give us a call at 312-930-1900 to set up a meeting time.

Stationery Questions

I am re-designing; can you help me with all of my stationery needs?
Definitely! We can handle a high volume in a timely manner.

Can you address envelopes?
Absolutely! We can print variable data with your addresses in an excel sheet. Please call 312-930-1900 for sizing options.

Can you use stock I provide?
Usually, yes, however, there may be restrictions. We would need to know stock type and dimensions. Just give us a call before you purchase the stock, and we can discuss different options with you.

What is the smallest quantity of business cards we can order?
100 is typically the minimum that we process using either engraving, flat printing, foil stamping, embossing, thermography, or digital printing.

Can we provide our own design for business cards (letterheads, invitations, etc.) or do you require we use pre-made designs?
We have many clients with a very specific design that we follow. We also have clients with no design plan in mind that we build from scratch using their preferences. Show us your concept and we can advise various printing alternatives to best present your concept.

In order to send what I need printed, what file types do you support?
We use the following software: Quark Express 8.0, Adobe Illustrator CS6, Adobe InDesign CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Acrobat 9 Pro. We use PDF, JPEG, TIF, EPS, & AI. If you have a file type not supported, we may still be able to work something out. Please call 312-930-1900 and ask to speak with a customer service representative.

Time Frame and Delivery Questions

Can you send me a proof before you run my job?
Yes, we primarily provide a PDF proof prior to production.

How long is my job going to take?
ETA’s depend on the processes and materials needed for your project. A customer service representative can give you a realistic time frame after final proof approval.

What are your delivery options?
If you are in the Chicago Downtown area, we deliver using our own truck. Otherwise we ship directly via UPS or FedEx. Let us know if you would like us to use your personal UPS or FedEx shipping information. You are also able to pick up your order during our normal business hours.
